Expedia Group in Austin is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead the design system engineering team and drive reusable, accessible components across web, iOS, and Android. You will shape architecture decisions, guide API design, and partner with product and design to align roadmaps.

The role emphasizes leadership, reliability, and the responsible use of AI/ML-enabled features, with a focus on scalable, high-quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years of relevant professional experience and 3+ years of people management experience.
• Experience owning technical direction and delivery across a multi-service platform or shared capability.
• Strong knowledge of software architecture, system design, API design, data modeling, testing, observability, and production operations.
• Proven ability to lead through influence and translate business needs into engineering outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop engineering teams responsible for Expedia Group’s design system.
• Define and execute the technical strategy for reusable design-system capabilities.
• Guide architecture, API design, data modeling, and integration patterns for services and shared components.
• Partner with product, design, accessibility, and engineering stakeholders to set priorities and roadmaps.
• Establish engineering practices for reliability, quality, security, observability, and operations.
• Safely integrate and operate AI/ML-enabled solutions that improve outcomes.
