Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking an Engineering Manager for Database Change Management to lead a remote backend engineering team across time zones. You’ll own PostgreSQL health, capacity planning, and a multi-year migration program to make customer upgrades faster and safer.

You will build and grow an India-based engineering cluster, mentor engineers, and coordinate with Database Architecture, Automation, QA, and infrastructure leadership while keeping production health and delivery on

Qualifications

• Engineering management experience leading remote, distributed teams across multiple time zones.
• Production PostgreSQL experience with capacity planning.
• Experience leading a long-horizon platform or infrastructure program.
• Hiring and team-building experience, including standing up new teams or sites.
• Strong written communication skills used as a primary management tool.

Responsibilities

• Lead a distributed team of backend engineers working fully asynchronously across time zones.
• Hire, onboard, and develop an India-based engineering cluster.
• Balance database health responsibilities with the multi-quarter migration system replacement.
• Protect the replatforming program's critical path by limiting production interruptions.
• Coach engineers from intermediate through senior levels to grow ownership and impact.
• Run the team async-first through written decision records and visible priorities.
