Job summary

Uplight is seeking an Engineering Manager to grow a high performing engineering team focused on energy software solutions. You will lead 11 engineers across two teams, drive data-driven decisions, and balance technical and business priorities to deliver impactful software for utilities and customers.

You will help shape the technical strategy in a Databricks environment on AWS, mentor staff, and communicate the technical vision to both customers and the internal team.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading engineering teams and mentoring staff.
• Strong ability to translate business needs into engineering plans.
• Experience using data to drive delivery and product decisions (DORA metrics).
• Familiarity with cloud data platforms and AWS cloud services.
• Proficient communication and collaboration across teams and with customers.

Responsibilities

• Lead 11 engineers across 2 teams to modernize energy software.
• Focus on customer outcomes and data-driven decision making (DORA, metrics, feedback).
• Balance technical trade-offs with business needs to plan investments.
• Coach and grow team members, fostering a healthy culture.
• Build in Databricks on AWS and shape the technical strategy.
• Communicate vision clearly to team, customers, and stakeholders.
