Engineering Manager - Building Automation (Remote)

About the Opportunity
We are partnering with a rapidly growing Building Automation company seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead and develop a team of BAS Design Engineers delivering projects across the United States. This is a fully remote position offering the opportunity to work on large-scale commercial, mission-critical, healthcare, industrial, and data center projects while helping shape engineering standards and processes across the business.
The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in Building Automation, proven leadership experience, and the ability to drive engineering excellence while supporting project delivery teams nationwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of BAS Design Engineers and technical specialists.
- Oversee the engineering and design of Building Automation and Controls projects from concept through execution.
- Establish and maintain engineering standards, drawing practices, and quality control procedures.
- Support project teams with technical guidance, system architecture, controller selection, and network design.
- Review control sequences, points lists, submittals, shop drawings, and system design documentation.
- Collaborate with operations, project management, sales, and field teams to ensure successful project execution.
- Drive consistency across engineering deliverables and continuously improve workflows and processes.
- Assist with resource planning, workload balancing, and hiring initiatives within the engineering team.
- Support value engineering efforts and identify opportunities to improve project profitability.
- Stay current on industry standards, emerging technologies, and BAS platforms.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of Building Automation, Controls, or BMS engineering experience.
- 3+ years of leadership or management experience within a BAS engineering environment.
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems, control sequences, DDC controls, and system integration.
- Experience reviewing and approving control drawings, submittals, and engineering packages.
- Ability to lead remote engineering teams and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
