Job summary

Bluebeam seeks an Engineering Manager to lead the development of a customer-facing web application and manage a team of engineers. This hands-on leadership role works with cross-functional members across product-engineering and may interact with other parts of the organization.

You will guide delivery, mentor engineers, and participate in budget planning while championing frontend/backend best practices, AI-assisted workflows, and cloud-native services.

Qualifications

• 12+ years in software with progressive growth in responsibility.
• 4+ years leading teams of 6+ engineers.
• Experience with customer-facing web applications or leading teams building them.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong leadership and emotional intelligence; ability to build trust and alignment.
• Proven ability to deliver predictably using Agile methodologies.
• Experience guiding architectural decisions and mentoring senior engineers.
• Experience scaling engineering productivity practices (DX, automation, internal tooling, and AI-assisted workflows).
• Hands-on skills in Go, C#, or TypeScript.
• Strong knowledge of React and modern frontend patterns.
• Proficiency with core web technologies (HTML, CSS, accessibility, performance, tooling).
• Strong knowledge of REST APIs and modern web protocols.
• Experience building/scaling cloud-hosted apps and microservices.
• Experience with containerized environments (Docker/Kubernetes).
• AWS experience (EC2/EKS/Lambda/S3).
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD; Terraform and GitHub/GitLab.

Responsibilities

• Leads team(s) through the software development lifecycle.
• Recruits, mentors, coaches, and retains engineers and tech leads.
• Sets goals and tracks progress for each team member.
• Supports expense approval and budget planning.
• Solves complex problems crossing technical and human domains.
• Present facts to stakeholders to drive quality decisions.
• Communicates clearly across teams and functions.
• Collaborates with architects, product delivery, product, engineers, and QA to deliver excellence.
• Participates in engineering on-call rotation.
