Job summary

Bluebeam is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the development of a customer-facing web application and to directly manage a team of engineers. You will be the technical hands-on leader working with cross-functional teams across product and engineering and, at times, with other stakeholders across the organization.

We expect 12+ years in the industry with progressive leadership and at least 4+ years managing teams of six or more engineers.

The Engineering Manager oversees the development of a customer-facing web application and directly manages a team of engineers. This role serves as a technical hands‑on leader working with various cross functional members of our product‑engineering organization and from time‑to‑time interacting with other key members throughout the Bluebeam organization.

About The Role
  • Leads team(s) throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Recruits, mentors, coaches, retains, inspires engineering individual contributors and tech leads on a day-to-day basis.
  • Sets and tracks goals and objectives with each assigned team member.
  • Participates and assists with expense approval and budget planning.
  • Creatively solves problems and clears roadblocks that often cross technical and human factor domains.
  • Conducts and attends meetings with key stakeholders to present facts that lead to quality decisions.
  • Communicates effectively and provides clarity in a 360 fashion.
  • Collaborates with architects, tech leads, product delivery managers, product managers, engineers, and quality engineering to build and deliver excellence.
  • Participates in engineering on‑call rotation
About You
  • 12+ years in industry with progressive growth in responsibility; 4+ years technical leadership and managing teams of 6 or more engineers.
  • Former experience either working on a customer facing web application, or leading a team that develops a customer-facing web application
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong lea dership and high emotional inte lligence; builds trust, clarity, and alignment across teams.
  • Growth‑minded, resilient leader who embraces change and learns quickly.
  • Proven ability to lead teams to predictable delivery using Agile frameworks while driving continuous improvement.
  • Ability to lead technical discovery, influence architectural decisions, and guide senior engineers toward strategic outcomes.
  • Experience scaling engineering productivity practices (developer experience, automation, internal tooling, and AI‑assisted workflows).
  • Strong capability in managing technical debt strategically, balancing near‑term delivery with long‑term system health.
  • Demonstrated ability to foster effective use of AI and automation across engineering teams to improve productivity, decision making, and delivery efficiency.
  • Hands‑on skills in at least one of: Go, C#, or TypeScript.
  • Strong knowledge of React and modern frontend patterns (hooks, state management, component architecture).
  • Strong knowledge of REST APIs and modern web protocols/technologies (HTTPS, CORS, JSON, XML, Postman, GraphQL)
  • Experience building and operating highly scalable, cloud‑hosted applications and services.
  • Experience with service‑oriented and microservices architectures in a containerized environment.
  • Amazon AWS experience (e.g., EC2, EKS/ECS, S3, SQS, ELB, Lambda or equivalent).
  • Familiarity with cloud‑native technologies and the broader cloud transformation landscape.
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD integration; Terraform and GitHub/GitLab experience preferred.
  • Experience using cross‑platform libraries/frameworks to reduce development effort and ensure a consistent experience across web and mobile.
  • Strong understanding of observability practices: metrics, structured logging, and distributed tracing.
  • Experience with modern monitoring and tracing tools (for example Dynatrace, Grafana, and/or OpenTelemetry)

Base pay offered will depend upon qualifications and other operational considerations. Base pay is one part of Bluebeam’s Total Rewards program, which seeks to compensate and recognize employees for their work. Most sales positions are eligible for commission under the terms of an applicable commission plan, while most non‑sales position are eligible for a bonus under the terms of an applicable bonus plan.
