Ladders is seeking an Engineering Manager, Core Engineering to guide a senior engineering team building the technical foundations for a dynamic consumer-facing digital experience. The role blends hands-on leadership with people management to ensure strong architecture, reliable execution, and scalable engineering practices.

For our client, we are seeking a Engineering Manager, Core Engineering to join the team of a leader in the Consumer Technology space.

This role will guide a senior engineering team responsible for the technical foundations that support a dynamic, consumer-facing digital experience. The manager will balance hands-on technical leadership with people management, ensuring strong architecture, reliable execution, and scalable engineering practices. Success in this position will come from partnering closely with product and technical stakeholders to translate strategy into effective delivery while supporting team growth and operational excellence.

Location: Remote

Compensation: $171,000 – $248,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Manage and mentor a team of senior engineers
• Drive operational excellence and strategic vision for core engineering
• Conduct code and architecture reviews, providing technical feedback
• Participate actively in recruiting efforts to grow the engineering team
• Provide regular performance feedback and career development support
• Collaborate with Technical and Product teams to align on vision and goals
• Make informed decisions on technology vendors and tools

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of experience in engineering management or a related field
• Proven ability to build and lead high-performing teams
• Strong understanding of user-focused product development
• Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
• Experience with distributed systems and container orchestration
• Familiarity with a variety of programming languages and tools
• Ability to foster an inclusive and collaborative team environment
