Job summary

Cengage Group is seeking a Software Engineering Manager to lead a globally distributed team focused on automation, AI-driven solutions, and scalable platforms. You will collaborate with product managers and business partners to deliver innovative, high-quality software across content and education platforms.

The role emphasizes leadership, architectural modernization, and continuous improvement through Agile practices and POM-aligned delivery. Generative AI experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of technology leadership experience.
• Solid understanding of AI concepts and GenAI technologies.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all aspects of a globally distributed engineering team.
• Partner with product and design teams to deliver AI-powered solutions.
• Drive end-to-end delivery of automation initiatives and platform improvements.
• Balance technical debt with new feature development within each sprint.
• Ensure alignment to engineering guidelines and scalable, secure architectures.
