Job summary

Fanatics Betting & Gaming is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead backend teams focused on secure, compliant customer access. You will own critical systems for geolocation, self-exclusion, and regulatory data residency, guiding architecture and engineering culture across the domain.

Collaborate with Product, Risk, Legal, and Compliance to balance customer experience with regulatory obligations, while driving reliability and scalable safeguards in a high-stakes environment.

Qualifications

• Experience managing software engineering teams in high-risk or regulated environments.
• Proven ability to lead Java/AWS-based backend systems.
• Experience with fraud detection, payments, compliance or responsible gaming is desirable.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration and regulatory risk management.

Responsibilities

• Lead high-scale compliance systems across geolocation, exclusion, and gating.
• Set standards for security, reliability, and regulatory compliance.
• Partner with Risk, Legal, and Compliance to meet gaming requirements.
• Improve login/registration flows for performance under peak traffic.
• Own systems enforcing gaming controls like wager limits and self-exclusion.
