Job summary

Fanatics Betting & Gaming is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead backend teams focused on geolocation, responsible gaming, and regulatory exclusion. You will drive architecture, governance, and operational excellence to ensure trust and safety for customers while navigating complex regulatory requirements across US markets.

Qualifications

• Experience building secure, scalable systems in regulated environments.
• Background in Java, AWS ecosystem preferred.
• Experience with fraud detection, payments, compliance, or responsible gaming is highly desirable.
• Ability to balance strategic direction with deep technical execution.
• Strong communication and storytelling skills across stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead teams responsible for high-scale compliance systems including geolocation, self-exclusion, and restricted access.
• Drive operational excellence in security, reliability, and regulatory compliance.
• Partner with Risk, Legal, and Compliance to meet regulatory requirements and gaming standards.
• Own login/registration flows and real-time enforcement across jurisdictions.
• Architect and guide data synchronization, user sync, and prohibited persons enforcement pipelines.
