Job summary

U.S. Bank seeks a seasoned architectural leader to guide a team of engineers and architects. You will shape the technology roadmap, modernize payment platforms, and migrate legacy systems to cloud-native microservices. Strong collaboration with product, security, and risk teams is required.

You will champion DevSecOps, CI/CD, and observability while ensuring governance and regulatory compliance across delivery. A senior leadership presence is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience.
• Six to eight years of relevant technical experience.
• Five or more years of leading a software engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor high-performing software engineers and architects, supporting technical growth and engineering excellence.
• Define and execute architecture strategy, roadmaps, and modernization initiatives for credit card processing platforms.
• Drive transformation of legacy/mainframe-based payment systems to cloud-native microservices architectures.
• Establish architecture standards, governance, solution review processes, and engineering best practices.
• Partner with Product, Infrastructure, Security, Operations, and Risk teams to deliver scalable payment solutions.
• Lead multiple Agile Scrum teams, ensuring alignment of priorities and delivery of business value.
• Guide solution architecture decisions, API strategies, integration patterns, observability, and reliability engineering.
• Champion DevSecOps, CI/CD automation, cloud adoption, and engineering operational excellence.
• Manage technical risks, platform resiliency, security requirements, and regulatory compliance for payment systems.
• Influence stakeholders and senior leadership on technology investments and modernization direction.
