Job summary

U.S. Bank is seeking an experienced engineering leader to drive architecture strategy and modernization of credit card processing platforms. You will guide multiple Agile Scrum teams, align with product and risk teams, and oversee end-to-end delivery of scalable payment solutions.

The role emphasizes cloud-native transformations, DevSecOps, and strong governance practices to ensure security and reliability in a complex payments environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• 6–8 years of relevant technical experience.
• 5+ years of leading a software engineering team.
• Experience delivering enterprise applications in Agile environments.
• Experience modernizing mainframe/payments platforms.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor multiple Agile Scrum teams with a focus on engineering excellence.
• Define and execute architecture strategy, roadmaps, and modernization initiatives for credit card processing platforms.
• Drive transformation of legacy/mainframe-based systems to cloud-native microservices.
• Establish architecture standards, governance, and review processes.
• Partner with Product, Infrastructure, Security, Operations, and Risk teams to deliver scalable payment solutions.
• Guide solution architecture decisions, API strategies, observability, and SRE practices.
• Champion DevSecOps, CI/CD automation, and cloud adoption.
• Influence senior leadership on technology investments and direction.
