Job summary

Layup Parts seeks an Engineering Manager, Manufacturing Software (CAD/CAM & Geometry) to lead the team building software tools that translate complex manufacturing engineering problems into scalable, automated workflows. The role sits at the intersection of software, manufacturing, and mechanical engineering, guiding engineers to turn design into production.

You'll mentor engineers, translate production challenges into software requirements, and shape the software architecture as Layup's

Qualifications

Strong background in manufacturing or mechanical engineering and software leadership.
Experience leading engineers and cross-functional projects.
Experience with computational geometry, CAD/CAM, or geometric modeling.

Responsibilities

Lead and mentor the computational geometry software team, setting priorities and providing direction.
Partner with manufacturing and mechanical engineers to translate production challenges into software requirements.
Guide development of software that analyzes, manipulates, and generates 3D geometry for composite parts and tooling.
Improve speed, quality, and scalability of manufacturing workflows with internal tools.
Shape technical architecture and development practices for Layup's manufacturing platform.
