Job summary

Layup is seeking an Engineering Manager, Manufacturing Software (CAD/CAM & Geometry) in Huntington Beach to lead a team turning complex manufacturing problems into scalable workflows. You will guide geometry tooling and automation, working with manufacturing engineers to set priorities and architecture.

You will mentor engineers, shape product direction, and ensure delivery of fast, reliable software that improves throughput for aerospace, defense, robotics applications and more.

Qualifications

• Leadership experience guiding software teams in manufacturing contexts.
• Strong background in CAD/CAM and geometry with production-facing impact.
• Ability to translate manufacturing challenges into software requirements and roadmaps.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor the computational geometry software team, setting priorities and providing direction.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and mechanical engineers to translate production challenges into software needs.
• Drive development of software that analyzes and generates 3D geometry for composite parts and tooling.
• Develop internal tools to improve speed, quality, and scalability of manufacturing workflows.
• Shape technical architecture and roadmap as Layup's platform grows, while maintaining code quality.
• Recruit and grow the team, ensuring delivery in a fast-moving environment.
