Job summary

CompanyCam is seeking a senior software engineering leader in Lincoln to drive performance, retention, and outcomes for engineering teams. You’ll mentor engineers, guide architectural decisions, and partner with Product and Design to deliver reliable, scalable software.

This role blends hands-on coding with people leadership: you’ll participate in code reviews, build onboarding plans, and champion engineering standards while ensuring healthy delivery of the codebase.

Qualifications

Senior software engineer with production codebase experience.
Experience leading teams as a tech lead or project lead.
Comfort staying technically active in a management role.
Experience interviewing engineers and contributing to hires.
Experience with product development and architecture discussions.
Strong ability to translate technical concepts to business context.

Responsibilities

Own performance, retention, engagement, and outcomes for direct reports.
Provide timely feedback and coaching via regular 1:1s.
Build processes and culture that let the team succeed, inside and outside the team.
Identify and remove blockers to execution and direct your team's time to high-priority work.
Stay hands-on with the codebase — code reviews, small fixes, pairing.
Author well-scoped features or fixes to unblock the team.
Participate in code, design, and product reviews with timely feedback.
Model strong engineering practices: clear commits, tests, CI.
Own technical feasibility input during discovery and planning.
Contribute to cross-team initiatives and department-level decisions.
