Healthie is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a Backend team focused on billing, insurance, and payments infrastructure. You will drive scalable, reliable systems and collaborate with product and cross-functional partners to translate requirements into high-impact solutions.

The role emphasizes building and scaling high-performing teams, adopting AI-assisted engineering practices, and delivering secure, performant code in a hybrid NYC office environment.

Qualifications

8+ years as a software engineer and 2+ years leading teams, preferably in SaaS.
Experience with healthcare/healthcare tech is a plus.
Strong architectural design and systems thinking.
Experience with Rails, React, TypeScript, GraphQL, and Postgres.
Excellent written and async communication.

Responsibilities

Lead, mentor, and coach engineers to foster technical excellence.
Own execution of squad roadmaps with clear priorities.
Partner with Engineering and Product to shape architecture.
Champion secure, performant, and maintainable code.
Create an empowering environment for engineers to grow.
Leverage AI-powered tools to increase velocity and quality.
