Job summary

Fanatics Betting & Gaming is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the Balance and Ledger platform, owning customer funds services across the CAT domain. This leader will guide backend engineers (Java, Spring Boot, AWS) to ensure accurate, scalable delivery in a regulated environment.

You will shape architecture, mentor engineers, and partner with Payments, Finance, Legal, and Compliance to ensure compliant operations at scale.

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years of experience managing software engineering teams in regulated environments.
• Background leading Java/AWS ecosystems is preferred.
• Experience with ledgers, wallets, balance services, or payments systems is highly desirable.
• Understanding transactional consistency and idempotency in high-stakes data stores.

Responsibilities

• Lead the team that owns the ledger and balance services for customer funds, ensuring accuracy, auditability, and availability.
• Drive operational excellence: security, reliability, observability, on-call practices.
• Oversee migrations of live wallets onto the shared ledger with minimal customer impact.
• Collaborate with Finance, Legal, and Compliance to meet fund attribution and regulatory requirements.
