Job summary

DAT Freight & Analytics is hiring an Engineering Manager for Broker Tech in Portland. You will lead 1–2 engineering teams, own end-to-end delivery, and shape architecture decisions while coordinating with Product and other stakeholders.

Experience leading contractor teams, strong people management, and a track record of delivering complex autonomous systems in freight, logistics, or fintech domains are highly valued. This is a hybrid role with a focus on impactful automation.

Qualifications

• Direct experience running 1:1s, performance conversations, and hiring.
• Demonstrated ability to own projects from planning to maintenance with measurable outcomes.
• Ability to balance delivery urgency with team sustainability.

Responsibilities

• Own Delivery: plan sprints, refine backlog, forecast delivery, manage scope.
• Lead the People Side: conduct 1:1s, set expectations, write reviews, hire.
• Oversee Contractor Teams: ensure contractors meet delivery and quality bar.
• Weigh In on Architecture: guide design and implementation, flag cross-team dependencies.
• Uphold the Bar: enforce engineering standards, identify gaps and refinements.
• Partner Across the Org: translate roadmap priorities with Product Management, remove impediments.
• Share Knowledge: avoid single points of failure within the team.
