Job summary

Redwood Logistics is seeking a Senior Software Engineering Manager in Chicago to lead the Brokerage and Managed Services platforms. You will own engineering execution, delivery predictability, and talent development across Product, Architecture, Security, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable technology solutions.

You will drive DORA metrics, implement secure software practices, and partner across teams to ensure reliable, scalable systems in a hybrid environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience with leadership.
• 3+ years leading software teams responsible for delivery and performance.
• Experience recruiting and mentoring engineering talent.
• Proven track record using metrics to improve delivery outcomes.
• Strong cloud-native development on Azure or AWS.

Responsibilities

• Own engineering planning, roadmap execution, release quality, and delivery predictability.
• Partner with Product Managers to prioritize backlog and inform roadmap sequencing.
• Coordinate cross-team dependencies and remove blockers to protect commitments.
• Forecast engineering capacity and align staffing with roadmap priorities.
• Establish and improve SDLC standards, branching and CI/CD practices.
• Partner with Security to implement secure software development and remediation.
• Drive testing strategies, automation, and quality improvements.
• Guide technical decision-making across Architecture and senior engineers.
• Mentor and develop high-performing software engineering teams.
• Own production systems reliability, incident response, and post-incident reviews.
• Track and improve delivery metrics using data-driven insights.
