Job summary

PNC seeks a Software Engineering Manager to lead a team of application support engineers and technical specialists. You will drive critical API and backend service reliability, incident resolution, and production readiness across multiple platforms.

You will partner with Software Engineering teams to enhance automation, observability, and operational maturity while guiding releases and ensuring security and compliance expectations are met.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of industry experience with progression to leadership roles.
• Experience managing application support engineers and technical specialists.
• Strong collaboration with Software Engineering teams to improve reliability and automation.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of application support engineers and technical specialists.
• Ensure availability, performance, resiliency, and operational stability of API platforms and backend services.
• Drive incident, problem, change management and production readiness processes.
• Lead major incident response efforts and coordinate across technology groups.
• Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Partner with software engineers to improve reliability, observability, and operational maturity.
• Support releases and ensure readiness for new API capabilities and platform enhancements.
• Monitor service health via dashboards, KPIs, SLAs and SLOs.
• Establish runbooks, escalation paths and operational controls.
