Job summary

PNC is seeking a Software Engineering Manager for Site Reliability Engineering based in Birmingham, AL. You will lead a twilight shift (3 pm–11 pm EST) and drive reliability, automation, and observability across mission-critical platforms powering digital experiences.

You will mentor a growing team, champion best practices in incident response, change management, and production support while partnering with engineering, infrastructure and vendor teams to improve MTTR and uptime.

Qualifications

• Roles at this level typically require a university degree, with 5+ years of industry-relevant experience.
• 3+ years of prior management experience is typically required.
• In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education, certification and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Manage SRE engineers; set goals, coach, and drive ownership and excellence.
• Lead incident management and real-time triage across layers; communicate with stakeholders.
• Provide technical leadership in production support; guide troubleshooting across systems.
• Drive RCA and permanent fixes to reduce recurring issues and risk.
• Oversee change management and release execution with risk assessment.
