Job summary

Datadog is seeking an Engineering Manager for Applied Scientists to define the technical vision and grow a greenfield AI/ML initiative across the product analytics suite. You will lead researchers, ship production-grade capabilities, and partner with product and engineering leadership to set priorities.

You are a hands-on leader with a track record of moving ML/AI from research to production, comfortable with ambiguity, and skilled at communicating complex ideas to non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Experience leading Applied Scientists or ML researchers.
• Proven ability to move ML capabilities from research to production.
• Strong communication skills with product and engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a team of Applied Scientists researching, prototyping, and industrializing AI/ML capabilities.
• Define the technical vision and roadmap for AI/ML across the product analytics suite.
• Stay hands-on as a contributor and reviewer, guiding production-grade work.
• Collaborate with product and engineering leadership to prioritize and deliver AI features.
