Job summary

Garner Health is seeking an exceptional Engineering Manager for the Business Productivity team in New York City. You will lead and grow a high-performing engineering group, embedding AI into core workflows and partnering with business units to deliver measurable productivity gains.

The role reports to the VP of Platform Engineering and is based in NYC, with on-site presence three days a week. You will own services, drive AI adoption, and shape technical direction in a fast-moving, mission-driven

Qualifications

• 6+ years of hands-on engineering experience and 2+ years managing engineering teams.
• 2+ years of people leadership in a tech org.
• Experience building web apps and APIs on cloud infrastructure (AWS or similar).
• Strong ownership and proactive problem-solving mindset.
• Ability to partner with non-technical stakeholders and translate workflows into technical solutions.
• Thrives in a fast-moving startup or high-accountability environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing engineering team through coaching and hiring.
• Partner with internal business units to identify opportunities and ship end-to-end features.
• Drive delivery of AI-native solutions across core workflows.
• Own services ensuring secure, high-quality, reliable experiences.
• Balance quality with delivery speed and communicate tradeoffs across teams.
• Set technical direction across the roadmap focusing on AI adoption and foundational improvements.
