Job summary

Decagon is seeking an Engineering Manager for the Agent Engineering team to lead engineers building and shipping AI agents at scale. You will mentor and own delivery from initial implementation through continuous improvement, partnering with customers and cross-functional teams to solve complex problems.

You’ll work with leaders across industries, maintaining a high engineering bar and ownership culture, while driving velocity and exceptional customer outcomes.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of engineering management experience.
• 5+ years of software engineering experience.
• Proficiency with Python and TypeScript; asynchronous programming.
• Experience leading teams building complex distributed systems or customer-facing products.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with enterprise customers.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a team of engineers building AI agents and scalable solutions.
• Partner directly with enterprise customers to understand pain points and translate into AI agent solutions.
• Drive execution across the full lifecycle of deployments from initial implementation to optimization.
• Collaborate with product, design and research to guide platform evolution and research efforts.
• Define the technical strategy and roadmap for AI-powered customer support; mentor engineers and uphold quality.
