Job summary

Omni Hotels & Resorts in Louisville, Kentucky seeks an Engineering Assistant to provide technical and administrative support to the Director and Assistant Director of Engineering and to assist with the operational aspects of the Engineering Department.

You will help maintain preventative maintenance logs, procure supplies, assign and prioritize work orders, manage inventories, assist guests, coordinate shifts, and ensure compliance with Omni's safety procedures.

Qualifications

• HVAC and mechanical experience preferred.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.
• 3-5 years of luxury hotel engineering experience preferred.
• Previous experience at a convention service hotel preferred.
• Experience managing a team of 5+ associates.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the full upkeep of the preventative maintenance, including the keeping of logs on work done, scheduling and the assignment of projects and other related tasks.
• Assist Engineering in the procurement of supplies and the issuance of purchase orders.
• Review work orders and assign work by priorities.
• Maintain up-to-date inventories of heat, light & power and repair and maintenance supplies.
• Respond to guest requests.
• Work with the Engineering staff on a shift basis and coordinate their activities.
• Have a thorough understanding of Omni's fire alarm procedures and emergency evacuation.
• Have a thorough understanding of Omni's job scenarios.
• Must be familiar with Omni's Systems and Services procedures.
• Other duties as assigned by management.
