Job summary

Omni Nashville Hotel is seeking a capable engineering professional to provide technical and administrative support to the Director of Engineering. You will help manage preventive maintenance, procurement, and work orders while ensuring safety and guest comfort.

Ideal candidates have at least two years in hotel engineering or similar leadership, with electrical and HVAC know-how. You will work across shifts to keep the property functioning smoothly and safely.

Qualifications

  • Minimum two years hotel engineering, or comparable maintenance leadership experience.
  • Hotel engineering leadership is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with electrical, HVAC and hands-on tools.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Director of Engineering in full upkeep of preventive maintenance, with logs and project assignments.
  • Assist in procurement of supplies and issue purchase orders.
  • Review work orders and prioritize tasks.
  • Maintain inventories of heat, light, power and maintenance supplies.
  • Respond to guest requests and coordinate staff activities.
  • Lead a shift and support department operations in the Director's absence.
  • Understand Omni fire alarm procedures and emergency evacuations.
  • Ensure inspection programs are maintained and safety policies followed.
  • Perform inspections and repairs anywhere in or out of hotel property.
  • Be familiar with Omni's Systems and Services procedures.

To provide technical and administrative assistance to the Director of Engineering. Assist the Director of Engineering in the operational aspect of the Engineering Department.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the Director of Engineering in the full upkeep of the preventative maintenance, including the keeping of logs on work done, scheduling and the assignment of projects and other related tasks.
  • Assist in the procurement of supplies and the issuance of purchase orders.
  • Review work orders and assign work by priorities.
  • Maintain up-to-date inventories of heat, light & power and repair and maintenance supplies.
  • Respond to guest requests.
  • Work with the Engineering staff on a shift basis and coordinates their activities.
  • Assume the full responsibility for the Engineering Department in the absence of the Director of Engineering Services.
  • Have a thorough understanding of Omni's fire alarm procedures and emergency evacuation.
  • Have a thorough understanding of Omni's job scenarios.
  • Ensure that the inspection program is consistently maintained.
  • Ensure all safety and security policies and procedures are followed.
  • Required to perform inspections and repairs anywhere in or out of hotel property.
  • Must be familiar with Omni's Systems and Services procedures.
Qualifications
  • Minimum two years hotel engineering, or other sufficient building equipment maintenance leadership experience required.
  • Hotel engineering leadership strongly preferred.
  • Experience with electrical, HVAC and working knowledge of powered and handheld tools and equipment.
  • Reading, writing, and oral proficiency in the English language required, must be able to communicate with guests and staff professionally and with empathy.
  • Must have proven leadership skills and must be able to direct, develop and motivate staff.
  • Maintain a professional business appearance, attitude, and performance.
  • Ability to teach employees importance of, and how to greet guests and courteously solve requests.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations, while maintaining a calm and welcoming demeanor.
  • Candidate must have excellent time management skills, the ability to work with both internal and external customers and a keen eye for detail.
  • Must be computer oriented and able to meet deadlines and adhere to company policies.
  • Must be able to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Stand or walk for extended periods of time or for an entire shift.
  • Must be able to handle frequent lifting, pushing, pulling and carrying of objects weighing up to 50 lbs without assistance.
  • 100% of mobility required in all areas of hotel property and grounds.
  • Required to perform inspections and repairs anywhere in or out of hotel property.
  • Must be able to climb a ladder, work in high places and confined areas.
  • Lift driving required | Electric saws, hand tools, drills, grinders.
