Job summary

The Omni Homestead Resort & Spa, a four-season resort in Virginia, seeks an Engineering Services assistant to support the Director of Engineering in maintenance, procurement, scheduling and project coordination. The role emphasizes guest service and reliable facility operations at a historic property.

Ideal candidates will have extensive HVAC experience, strong communication, and the ability to lead a maintenance crew, including weekends and holidays as needed.

Qualifications

  • Must have extensive HVAC and mechanical experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include nights, weekends and holidays.
  • 3-5 years of hotel engineering experience preferred.
  • Previous experience at a convention service hotel preferred.
  • Experience managing a crew of 5 or more.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Director of Engineering Services in the full upkeep of preventative maintenance, including logs on work done, scheduling and assignment of projects.
  • Assist in procurement of supplies and issuance of purchase orders.
  • Review work orders and assign work by priorities.
  • Maintain up-to-date inventories of heat, light & power and repair and maintenance supplies.
  • Respond to guest requests.
  • Coordinate Engineering staff on a shift basis.
  • Assume full responsibility for the Engineering Department in the Director's absence.
  • Understand Omni's fire alarm procedures and emergency evacuation.

Overview:

To provide technical and administrative assistance to the Director of Engineering Services and to assist the Director of Engineering Services in the operational aspect of the Engineering Department.

Responsibilities:
