Job summary

Omni Hotels & Resorts is seeking an HVAC Maintenance Technician to ensure reliable operation of HVAC systems across guest rooms, function spaces, and public areas at Port Everglades.

The role requires EPA universal licensure, strong knowledge of electrical systems, schematics, and BMS, plus flexible hours and physical stamina to work indoors and outdoors in all conditions.

Qualifications

  • EPA universal licenses are required.
  • HVAC maintenance experience required; hotel experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems, low voltage controls, plumbing, and gas systems.
  • Experience reading and interpreting schematics.
  • General computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office & Excel; ability to learn other engineering programs.
  • Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime.
  • Ability to interact with hotel guests and maintain professional appearance.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds; work indoors/outdoors in varying conditions.
  • May participate in ride-out crew during severe weather events.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule and perform preventive maintenance on HVAC equipment.

  • Monitor and operate Building Management System (BMS).
  • Assist engineers and mechanics as needed with repairs.
  • Maintain stock/inventory of HVAC supplies and notify when replenishment is needed.
  • Respond to all service requests promptly.
  • Follow all safety and security policies; report accidents or unsafe conditions.
  • Keep work areas clean and professional; protect company assets.

Job description

JOB PURPOSE: To ensure that all work requests pertaining to kitchens, function rooms, food outlets and public areas are maintained with a reasonable amount of repair.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Schedule and perform preventive maintenance (PM) on HVAC equipment.
  • Maintain and repair all HVAC equipment in the building including guest rooms, public areas, meeting rooms and parking garage.
  • Monitoring and operation of BMS (Building Management System).
  • Work on other equipment as needed.
  • Maintain correct stock/inventory of HVAC supplies and filers and communicate when replenishment is needed.
  • Respond to all requests.
  • Assist engineers and mechanics as needed with repairs.
  • Have a thorough understanding of Omni's fire alarm procedures and emergency evacuation.
  • Must be familiar with Omni's systems and procedures
  • Keep all work areas clean.
  • Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions; complete safety training and certifications.
  • Ensure clean uniform and professional personal appearance; maintain confidentiality of proprietary information; protect company assets.
  • Performs other duties as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • EPA universal licenses are required.
  • Previous HVAC maintenance experience required; hotel experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems, low voltage controls, plumbing, and gas systems.
  • Experience in reading and interpreting schematics.
  • Requires general computer skills and basic knowledge of Microsoft Office & Excel and ability to learn other related engineering programs. Must be organized and mechanically inclined with strong desire to learn building mechanics.
  • Must be willing to work based on business and occupancy levels.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime.
  • Must be able to interact and communicate with the hotel guests.
  • Move, bend, lift, carry, crawl, squat, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance. Stand, walk or sit for an extended period or for an entire work shift.
  • Must work indoors and outdoors including during extreme weather conditions.
  • May be asked to be part of "ride-out" crew during severe weather events.
  • Must be able to work using ladders, scissors, and aerial lifts.
ENVIRONMENT & POSITION ANALYSIS:
  • Move, bend, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Stand, walk or sit for an extended period or for an entire work shift.
  • Requires repetitive motion, including the use of handheld and powered tools.
