Job summary

Kalmar Solutions LLC is seeking an Engineering Manager, Powertrain and Hydraulics, to lead a team of Mechanical Development Engineers in delivering terminal tractor powertrain and hydraulic systems. You will direct and grow engineers, align with the Product Development Roadmap, and influence future vehicle platforms on a global scale.

You will manage design reviews, balance timelines and resources, and ensure safety and reliability requirements are met across programs.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 7+ years of proven experience in vehicle design, analysis, or a related field.
• Experience leading complex design projects; previous management experience is a plus.
• Comfortable working with requirements management tools: Jama, DOORS, Jira/Confluence.

Responsibilities

• Team Management: Recruit, mentor, and manage mechanical engineers, fostering growth and collaboration.
• Project Oversight: Execute and oversee multiple engineering projects with timelines and resources.
• Technical Review and Problem Solving: Direct technical activities, review designs, and improve processes.
• Cross-Functional leadership: Liaise with other departments and partners to communicate needs.
• Process and Quality refinement: Refine development and testing processes for efficiency and quality.
• Resource Planning: Plan resource requirements and analyze technology trends.
• System Design Leadership: Lead system requirement definitions to meet customer needs and regulatory needs.
• Safety and Reliability leadership: Oversee analyses to ensure safety and reliability standards.
• Design Ownership: Own the assessment and analysis of powertrain and hydraulic systems.
