Job summary

Environment One Corporation (E/One) in Niskayuna, NY, is seeking an engineering leader to drive product development from concept through production for sewer system products. You will guide a small team, perform design reviews, and collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and suppliers to ensure robust, manufacturable designs.

The role requires a mechanical engineering degree and 6+ years in manufacturing engineering with injection molding experience; SolidWorks proficiency is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 6 years of product development and engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience leading cross-functional engineering projects from concept through production launch.
• Proficient with solid modeling and engineering product documentation practices.
• Experience with prototype development, testing, validation, and problem-solving methodologies.
• Strong project management, organizational, and communication skills.
• Experience designing plastic components for injection molding applications.
• Experience with high-pressure injection molding processes and tooling reviews preferred.
• Experience with PDM/ERP systems and engineering change management processes preferred.
• Experience working within ISO-based quality management systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage project scope, schedules, priorities, resources, and risks to ensure successful execution of engineering objectives.
• Coordinate cross-functional activities between Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Purchasing, Operations, and external partners.
• Develop, review, and approve product designs, engineering documentation, and technical specifications using SolidWorks.
• Provide technical leadership through design reviews, problem solving, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective actions.
• Lead prototype development, product testing, and validation activities to ensure products meet performance, reliability, and manufacturability requirements.
• Collaborate with suppliers on component development and review injection mold tooling designs to support product quality and manufacturability.
• Support engineering change management activities and continuous product improvement efforts.
• Supervise, coach, and develop assigned engineering and technical personnel, including performance management, hiring support, and employee development.
• Promote accountability, collaboration, and effective communication within the engineering team and across departments.
• Drive continuous improvement of project execution, engineering processes, and organizational effectiveness while ensuring compliance with established quality and ISO-based systems.
• Other duties as assigned.
