Toast, Inc. is seeking an Engineering Lead for New Ventures to guide a small, senior team from concept to a first MVP and beyond. You will write code, resolve customer issues, and shape the technical strategy while partnering with Product to set weekly priorities.

You’ll establish fast, high-quality delivery norms, integrate modern development tools, and work closely with customers to ensure rapid, real-world value in a hybrid U.S. environment.

Qualificações

• Proven 0-to-1 experience taking a product from concept to MVP and beyond.
• Strong player/coach mentality with the depth to review designs and code.
• Experience leading small, high-leverage engineering teams in lean settings.
• Deep customer empathy and willingness to fix bugs from user feedback.
• Proven ability to build teams and products using modern tooling to ship faster.
• Experience defining shared engineering norms and guardrails.
• Strong collaboration with product leads to set weekly priorities.
• Self-directed, low ego, thrives with imperfect clarity.
• You've built with LLMs or shipped AI-powered experiences.

Responsabilidades

• Lead a team of 4–5 senior engineers, fostering rapid iteration and technical excellence.
• Act as player/coach: write code, fix bugs, and triage customer issues.
• Partner with Product Lead to decide weekly sprints and priorities.
• Integrate modern tools into daily development processes.
• Establish norms, guardrails, and best practices for high-speed delivery.
• Collaborate with other engineering and platform groups on cross-team work.
• Stay close to customers, participate in feedback, and solve pain points.
• Shape technical strategy and architecture for a 0-to-1 product.
