Job summary

Brex is seeking an engineering leader to build and scale the next generation of Accounts Payable software. You will head a full-stack team, shaping technical and product direction while balancing customer needs with a durable foundation.

The role sits in Seattle, in a hybrid environment with three office days per week and up to four weeks of remote work per year. You will collaborate across design, product, and finance to drive impact and growth.

Qualifications

• Track record of engineering leadership building and scaling customer-facing products.
• Strong product sense for making and defending product/UX tradeoffs.
• Staff-engineer level technical bar; able to operate at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead a full-stack team (7–10 engineers) owning a defined part of Brex's AP software.
• Define and sharpen the team's mandate within the Payments group and where to invest.
• Set technical and product direction, prioritizing what to build and why.
• Ship a high-quality Accounts Payable product balancing velocity with a solid foundation.
• Foster a people-centered culture focused on enablement, trust, and knowledge sharing.
• Partner with Design and Product to align on scope and delivery.
• Provide coaching and career development for engineers at all levels.
• Bring an AI-forward mindset to how the team builds and operates.
• Translate customer feedback into engineering priorities and drive product discovery.
