Job summary

Brex is seeking an engineering leader for the Bill Pay team in San Francisco. You will build and grow a full-stack group, owning part of Brex's next-generation Accounts Payable software, partnering with Design and Product to shape scope and delivery, and aligning technical and product strategy with customer needs.

You’ll lead with a strong product sense, coach engineers at all levels, and bring an AI-forward mindset to continuously raise the bar for the team.

Qualifications

Track record of engineering leadership building and scaling customer-facing products.
Staff-engineer level technical bar; capable across levels.
Minimum 2+ years in an engineering management role.
Strong customer empathy and advocacy.

Responsibilities

Build and lead a full-stack team (7-10 engineers) owning a defined part of Brex's AP software.
Define and sharpen the team's mandate within Payments, invest and win customers.
Set technical and product direction, prioritise what to build and why.
Ship high-quality Accounts Payable product with durable foundations.
Foster a people-centered culture with enablement and trust.
Partner with Design and Product to align scope and delivery.
Provide coaching and career development for engineers.
Bring an AI-forward mindset and raise the team's AI standards.
Translate customer feedback into engineering priorities and trade-offs.
