Job summary

The City of Austin is seeking a Project Coordinator to support engineering and related program activities in a fast-paced municipal setting. This role requires coordinating budgets, schedules, and quality control across multiple teams and external partners.

Responsibilities include monitoring expenditures, processing pay applications, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. A bachelor’s degree and several years of related experience are expected for this essential public service

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related field with 3 years of experience in construction, engineering, architecture, or related work; experience may substitute education up to 4 years.
Experience in development and reviewing municipal development projects and programs.
Knowledge of laws, codes, and regulations related to project assignments and budgeting.

Responsibilities

Coordinate project budgets by monitoring expenditures and processing related pay applications.
Communicate project information to internal and external customers.
Develop and review construction/engineering contracts and change orders for compliance.
Assist in developing plans, schedules, and long-range project strategies.
Ensure regulatory permits and approvals are identified and secured.
