Job summary

City of Austin is seeking a qualified professional to support project and program management within the Public Works scope. The role involves budgeting, contract coordination, and ensuring regulatory compliance across multiple urban infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities include developing plans, guiding design standards, and communicating with diverse stakeholders, including officials and staff. On-site work at the Waller Creek Center is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with major in a related field and 3 years of experience in construction, engineering, architecture, or related work.
• Experience may substitute education up to four years.
• Experience with state/local governmental agencies and underground utility design.
• Knowledge of City Land Development Code and utility design criteria.
• Ability to communicate with a wide variety of stakeholders.
• Experience developing and monitoring program operating budgets, costs, and schedules.
• Experience coordinating permits/regulatory processes and contract changes.

Responsibilities

• Communicates project and program information to internal and external customers.
• Assists in development and monitoring of project budgets.
• Develops short- and long-range plans for projects or works on routine projects.
• Reviews and processes project change orders; ensures compliance with standards.
• Provides technical advice and assistance to project teams.
• Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and permitting processes.
• Coordinates plans, schedules, and reviews construction/engineering related contracts.
