Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Mechanical & Thermal Engineering Technician to support development, test, and validation of IHED hardware and vehicle technologies. You will perform mechanical, thermal, and environmental tests on electronic modules and ensure data integrity.

The role focuses on test setup, instrumentation, data collection, and collaboration with Mechanical, Thermal, and Electrical Engineers to drive repeatable, high-quality results in a hands-on lab environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in an engineering, electronics, thermal, or validation lab.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and test procedures.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and safety focus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and execute mechanical, thermal, and environmental tests on electronic modules.
• Set up fixtures, mounting hardware, and test configurations according to drawings and procedures.
• Operate lab equipment including environmental chambers, vibration shakers, thermal chambers, and data acquisition systems.
• Perform pre-test and post-test verification and document observations or anomalies.
• Maintain a safe, clean laboratory environment and support maintenance of equipment.
• Collaborate with Mechanical, Thermal, and Electrical Engineers to meet test objectives.
