Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Lead Design Release Engineer (Thermal) to own subsystem-level thermal performance and drive integration across underhood and in-cabin systems. You will lead a team of thermal DREs, coordinate with systems, powertrain, HVAC, and manufacturing teams, and guide releases, validation, and production readiness.

The role emphasizes system-level design ownership, collaboration with suppliers, and travel to facilities as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead your System PDT for assigned program(s) and coordinate with component DREs to meet deliverables with high quality.
• Facilitate cross-functional meetings to resolve high-risk, complex system-level issues with optimized solutions.
• Act as studio interface for thermal content on your program(s) and guide escalation to resolve criteria violations.
• Develop and rigorously manage milestones using GM engineering tools and processes.
• Coach and mentor DREs and suppliers to execute program deliverables.
• Own subsystem-level thermal performance and manage system-level issues in JIRA PRTS.
• Lead integration of the thermal subsystem into the total vehicle with underhood and in-cabin interfaces.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure requirements are met and interfaces are robust.
