Job summary

Duke Energy offers a multi-disciplinary internship for engineering students across Transmission, Distribution, and other groups. You will work with staff engineers on real-world projects, gaining exposure to design, analysis and system protection tasks, while developing professional skills in a collaborative setting.

Locations include multiple sites with hybrid work options and a housing stipend, designed to provide hands-on experience in a major utility company during the summer internship

Qualifications

• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Demonstrated technical proficiency in CAD tools, MATLAB, PSS/E, and Power World.
• Previous engineering work experience is preferred.
• Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse teams and manage time.

Responsibilities

• Work with staff engineers on real‑world projects during internship.
• Assist with design, analysis, and protection/controls systems.
• Rotate across Transmission, Distribution and other groups to gain broad experience.
