Job summary

Hexcel Corporation in Salt Lake City is seeking an Engineering Intern to support varied projects across manufacturing and engineering functions. You will rotate through Project, Manufacturing, Safety, Quality, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering areas, applying classroom knowledge to real-world processes and equipment.

The role emphasizes collaboration, problem solving, data analysis, and cost proposals. Candidates should be pursuing a B.S.

Qualifications

Sophomore or junior in a B.S. engineering program.
Ability to work effectively as a team member.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Current computer literacy including Microsoft Office products.
Exposure to Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma preferred.
Experience with CAD and/or Minitab preferred.

Responsibilities

Complete assigned projects applying skills learned in coursework.
Project-based work varying by department manager; may include analysis of manufacturing techniques and processing conditions.
Perform testing on electrical/mechanical components and recommend improvements.
Data analysis to support process and productivity improvements.
Assist with inspections of equipment.
Safety analysis and improvement projects.
Develop engineering cost proposals and project scheduling.
Rotate through key Hexcel areas: Project, Manufacturing, Safety, Quality, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering.
