Qualifications

  • Sophomore or junior in a B.S. engineering program.
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Current computer literacy including Microsoft Office products.
  • Exposure to Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma preferred.
  • Experience with CAD and/or Minitab preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Complete assigned projects applying skills learned in coursework.
  • Project-based work varying by department manager; may include analysis of manufacturing techniques and processing conditions.
  • Perform testing on electrical/mechanical components and recommend improvements.
  • Data analysis to support process and productivity improvements.
  • Assist with inspections of equipment.
  • Safety analysis and improvement projects.
  • Develop engineering cost proposals and project scheduling.
  • Rotate through key Hexcel areas: Project, Manufacturing, Safety, Quality, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering.

Hexcel is currently seeking an Engineering Intern for our Salt Lake City Matrix, UT, USA location.

The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations:
  • The completion of assigned projects that will utilize skills learned in formal education program.
  • Project based work as assigned by department manager will vary but may include:
    • Analyzing and interpreting manufacturing techniques, procedures, and processing conditions in the production of resins and pre-preg materials and carbon fiber
  • Perform testing on electrical/mechanical components and recommend improvements
  • Data analysis in support of process and productivity improvements
  • Assisting with inspections of equipment
  • Safety analysis and improvement projects
  • Development of engineering cost proposals and project scheduling
  • The qualified individuals hired into this program will rotate through key areas of Hexcel, which may include Project Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Safety Engineering, Quality Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering.
Qualifications:
  • Sophomore or junior level in a B.S. degree program from an accredited college or university in Materials Science, Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Chemical, Civil or Manufacturing Engineering
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Current computer literacy including Microsoft Office Products
  • Exposure to Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma continuous improvement programs preferred
  • Experience with CAD and/or Minitab preferred
