Job summary

Martin Marietta's Salisbury Shop offers an Engineering Internship that delivers hands-on experience in engineering, fabrication, machining, and repair operations within the company's only crusher repair facility. Interns work with engineers, machinists, fabricators, and welders, applying classroom knowledge in a real-world setting to develop technical, analytical, and project management skills.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Civil Engineering.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with SolidWorks or Autodesk Advance Steel is required.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn in a manufacturing and engineering environment.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work in both office and shop environments.

Responsibilities

• Follow and promote safety, environmental, and ethical standards in all work activities.
• Actively participate in safety initiatives and support a culture of safety excellence.
• Demonstrate safety consciousness, dependability, motivation, and professionalism.
• Assist engineering personnel with design, detailing, fabrication oversight, testing oversight, and project execution.
• Support engineering projects through design development and final delivery.
• Gain hands-on experience using precision measuring equipment (micrometers, calipers, vision measuring systems).
• Assist with engineering drawings and detailing using SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and Autodesk Advance Steel.
• Observe and support CNC machining and CNC cutting processes within manufacturing.
• Gain exposure to welding operations and machine assembly/disassembly activities.
• Collaborate with engineering, fabrication, machining, and maintenance teams to support objectives.
• Demonstrate initiative, professionalism, and a strong work ethic.
