Job summary

Martin Marietta's Salisbury Shop offers an Engineering Internship in Continuous Improvement/Industrial Engineering. You’ll support engineering, fabrication, machining, and repair operations, learning from experienced engineers, machinists, welders, and maintenance staff.

Responsibilities include applying classroom knowledge to projects, gaining experience with CNC machining, welding, and rock crusher assembly, and developing skills in safety, quality control, and process documentation.

Qualifications

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Willingness to learn in a manufacturing/engineering environment.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work in both office and shop environments.
• Must wear PPE as required in operational areas.

Responsibilities

• Follow and promote safety, environmental, and ethical standards.
• Participate in safety initiatives and culture of safety excellence.
• Demonstrate professionalism and dependability in daily activities.
• Identify and assist with projects that improve safety, quality, and 5S adoption.
• Identify and scope projects increasing automation in mechanics, welding, machining, and warehousing.
• Record and develop work instructions for common repair processes.
• Assist in transitioning quality control processes from paper to digital.
