Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) seeks an Engineer Intern Applicant – Engineer Intern 2 in Jennings to support transportation projects and programs. Training is provided with opportunities for career progression through the Engineering job series.

No prior engineering experience is required; the role involves construction project delivery support, plan reviews, and coordination with contractors and staff, with temporary status until certification is obtained.

Qualifications

Eligibility for a Louisiana Engineer Intern Certificate.

Responsabilités

Perform engineering work related to construction project delivery, field engineering, or construction oversight.
Review plans, specifications, estimates, construction documentation, and project records.
Monitor or assist with review of contractor work for compliance with DOTD standards, specifications, and contract requirements.
Coordinate with contractors, project engineers, inspectors, consultants, and internal DOTD staff.
Review quantities, documentation, payments, work zone information, or project-related materials as assigned.
Support construction certification, eConstruction, fabrication, field documentation, or final audit activities.
Assist with resolving construction-related issues, technical questions, or project delivery concerns.
Support emergency or disaster response activities as needed.
