The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) seeks an Engineer Intern Applicant – Engineer Intern 2 to support transportation projects and programs. This temporary position applies engineering principles, conducts analyses, coordinates projects, and performs compliance reviews.

No prior engineering experience is required—training is provided, with opportunities for career progression through the Engineering job series.

Qualifications

• Eligibility for a Louisiana Engineer Intern Certificate.

Responsabilités

• Perform engineering work related to construction project delivery, field engineering, or construction oversight.
• Review plans, specifications, estimates, construction documentation, and project records.
• Monitor or assist with review of contractor work for compliance with DOTD standards, specifications, and contract requirements.
• Coordinate with contractors, project engineers, inspectors, consultants, and internal DOTD staff.
• Review quantities, documentation, payments, work zone information, or project-related materials as assigned.
• Support construction certification, eConstruction, fabrication, field documentation, or final audit activities.
• Assist with resolving construction-related issues, technical questions, or project delivery concerns.
• Support emergency or disaster response activities as needed.
