Job summary

Bowman Consulting Group, Ltd. is seeking an Engineering Intern to join our Houston, TX team. The role supports project teams with basic technical tasks, data collection, and documentation while gaining hands-on experience in engineering principles and project delivery.

Under direct supervision, you will assist with design of project systems, CAD drafting, and production of construction documents. You will interact with multiple departments and participate in intern learning opportunities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• Enrolled in community college or degree program.
• Focus on civil, electrical, mechanical, or structural engineering.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Must have a valid state driver’s license and pass a motor vehicle check.

Responsibilities

• Work under direct supervision following established procedures.
• Interact with multiple departments and participate in intern development.
• Assist with design of project systems under a senior engineer.
• Complete design and drafting using CAD; help produce documents.
• Apply standard engineering techniques to tasks.
• Conduct field observations and inspections documentation.
• Assist with reports, specifications, and estimates.
• Observe construction administration activities (RFIs, submittals, shop drawings).
• Communicate effectively with engineers, managers, and clients.
• Learn codes and standards applicable to the discipline.
