Job summary

Great Southern Wood Preserving, Inc. is seeking an Engineering Intern for Summer 2027. The program offers exposure to the lumber industry, real-world projects, and networking opportunities.

Responsibilities include data collection, analysis, report generation, CAD modeling, and collaboration with supervisors. Preference for students in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering with GPA 2.5+. Competitive pay and potential course credit are offered.

Qualifications

• Sophomore or higher pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, GPA 2.5+.
• Experience with PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Teams, and Outlook.

Great Southern Wood Preserving, Inc., makers of YellaWood brand pressure-treated pine, is seeking an Engineering Intern for the summer of 2027. This program is an opportunity to experience the lumber industry and workforce like never before. Responsibilities may include:

• Performing data collection and analysis
• Generating reports based on results
• Assisting in designing new products, developing stereotypes, and testing existing products for safety or quality issues
• Using engineering software to model data or suggest solutions
• Communicating with supervisors or customers to gather info about project requirements or to report progress on a project
• Performing engineering calculations, including working with computer-aided design (CAD) tools to design products

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be at least a Sophomore and actively seeking a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering with a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or greater.
• Must have experience with PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Microsoft Teams, and Outlook.
