Qualifications

  • Sophomore status and pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with a 2.5+ GPA.
  • Pursuing Marketing or Graphic Design or closely related field.
  • Proficiency with PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Teams and Outlook.

Responsibilities

  • Designing and updating flyers, ads, and promotional materials.
  • Use design software such as Adobe Creative Suite to produce graphics.
  • Ensure designs align with brand guidelines and are print-ready.
  • Collaborate with the team to brainstorm creative concepts.
  • Organize and maintain digital design assets and project files.

Description

Great Southern Wood Preserving, Inc., makers of YellaWood brand pressure-treated pine, is seeking candidates for a Marketing intern in the 2027 Summer Internship Program. This program is an opportunity to experience the lumber industry and workforce like never before. From networking opportunities and real-world projects to community service events, Great Southern provides an incredible opportunity to gain valuable real-world experience.

Responsibilities may include:
  • Designing and updating flyers, ads, and other miscellaneous items, including:
  • Create visually appealing flyers, forms, posters, ads, and other promotional materials.
  • Use design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) to produce high-quality graphics.
  • Ensure designs are in line with the organization's branding guidelines.
  • Arrange text and images in a visually pleasing and organized manner.
  • Format forms and documents for readability and user-friendliness.
  • Edit and retouch images as needed for design projects.
  • Brainstorm and collaborate with the team to come up with creative design concepts for various projects.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to gather project requirements.
  • Organize and maintain digital files, ensuring easy access to design assets and resources.
  • Archive completed projects for future reference.
  • Ensure that designs are error-free before final production.
  • Prepare design files for print, including setting up print specifications (bleeds, color profiles, etc.).
  • Be open to receiving constructive feedback from managers and incorporate it into design revisions.
  • Maintain design-related documentation and resources.
  • Take advantage of the internship as a learning opportunity to improve design skills and gain practical experience.
  • Ensure compliance with copyright and intellectual property laws when using external resources.
Qualifications:
  • Must be at least a sophomore and actively seeking a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Marketing, Graphic Design, or other closely related field with a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or greater.
  • Must have experience with PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Microsoft Teams, and Outlook.
