Job summary

Ventura County Community College District is accepting applications for a part-time Instructor in Engineering on a rolling pool for Oxnard, Moorpark, and Ventura Colleges. Appointments are non-contracted and may occur for Summer 2026, Fall 2026, or Spring 2027 as vacancies arise.

Instructors provide instruction in lecture, lab, or performance courses, assess student learning outcomes, and guide students in degree and career pathways.

Qualifications

• Master's in any field of engineering OR Bachelor's in any of the above AND Master's in mathematics, physics, computerscience, chemistry or geology OR the equivalent.
• Possession of a valid California Community College Teaching Credential appropriate to the discipline.
• Equivalency may be recognized if exact degree titles do not match minimum qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom instruction through lecture, lab, or performance courses.
• Assess and develop cognitive abilities, communication skills, and higher order thinking through assignments.
• Advise students on programs of study and resources; refer to support services as needed.
• Observe and evaluate student performance and provide timely feedback.

Education

Master's in engineering

Bachelor's in engineering + Master's in mathematics/physics/computer science/chemistry/geology

California Community College Teaching Credential
