Job summary

Ventura County Community College District is accepting applications on an on-going basis for future consideration for part-time instructors in Emergency Medical Technologies at Oxnard College, Moorpark College, and Ventura College.

The pool will be used for Summer 2026, Fall 2026, and Spring 2027 vacancies, and applications from previous pools must re-apply to be considered. Instructors provide instruction, advise students, assess outcomes, and participate in governance as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher and two years of professional experience, or any Associate's degree and six years of professional experience, or the equivalent, or possession of a valid California Community College Teaching Credential appropriate to the discipline.
• Professional experience is required when the applicant possesses a master's degree.
• All coursework must be from a recognized accredited college or university.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic instruction to students through lecture, lab, or performance courses; assess and develop cognitive abilities, communication skills, and higher order thinking skills.
• Advise and instruct students regarding programs of study, other institutions of higher education, lifelong learning resources, and study skills.
• Observe and evaluate student performance and provide timely feedback to inquiries in class or online.
• Plan and organize instruction according to approved course outlines and student learning outcomes.
• Maintain accurate records of enrollment, progress, and course outcomes; prepare data and reports promptly.
• Evaluate instructional materials and assist in ordering resources to ensure timely delivery.
• Revise course content in line with new theory and industry developments; update syllabi regularly.
• May participate in curriculum development and attend department meetings.
