Ventura County Community College District is accepting applications on an on-going basis for future consideration for part-time Earth Science instructors at Oxnard, Moorpark, and Ventura campuses. Qualifications

• Master's in geology, geophysics, earth sciences, meteorology, oceanography or paleontology OR Bachelor's in geology AND Master's in geography, physics, or geochemistry OR the equivalent.
• California Community College Teaching Credential corresponding to the discipline (or equivalency considered).

Responsibilities

• Provide academic instruction to students through lecture, lab, or performance courses; assess and develop cognitive abilities, communication skills, and higher order thinking skills in various settings.
• Advise and instruct students regarding programs of study, transfer options, lifelong learning resources, and study skills; refer to support services as needed.
• Observe and evaluate student performance in meeting course objectives and student learning outcomes; provide timely feedback to inquiries.
• Plan and organize instruction according to approved course outlines and student learning outcomes; implement performance objectives as listed on the official course outline.
• Maintain accurate records of enrollment, attendance, progress, and outcomes; prepare and submit data and reports.
• Evaluate and select instructional materials in collaboration with faculty; order materials to ensure timely delivery.
• Revise course content in line with new theory and developments; update syllabi and collaborate to assess measurable outcomes.
• May participate in curriculum development, attend meetings, and contribute to articulation and matriculation activities.
• May provide work direction to others and perform related duties as assigned.

Education

Master's in geology, geophysics, earth sciences, meteorology, oceanography or paleontology OR Bachelor's in geology AND Master's in geography, physics, or geochemistry OR the equivalent; OR possession of a valid California Community College Teaching Credential appropriate to the discipline.
